This portal is a fist prototype of the EIES developed with the support of the EU4env project, aiming to facilitate the identification and the access to environmental data.  

The government decision No. 549 of 13-06-2018 regarding the constitution, organization and operation of the Environment Agency, underlines that:

• “the creation and administration of cadastres and special registers, administration of the information and data system for its fields of activity and ensuring public access to environmental information” is one of the main missions defined regarding the organization and operation of the Environment Agency

• The organization of the environmental agency should include a Directorate of integrated environmental information management 

The Ministry of Environment and its subordinate administrative authorities have a series of environmental information: databases, registers, resources and automated information systems, which are not integrated and interoperable and are not classified by areas of activity.

To achieve this, the concept is to be developed and the Integrated Environmental Information System (EIES) - a common government platform, which would integrate all environmental information, based on the principles of the Common / Shared Environmental Information System (SEIS) , the development of which is an initiative of the European Union, aimed at modernizing and simplifying the procedure for collecting, exchanging and using the data and information necessary for the development and implementation of environmental policy.
